7 Jan 2008 - Update
Happy New Year
No particular news on the river report… we believe the RRG met and considered the draft report last (along with our formal request for 5 places on the RRG), and a report may go to Cabinet as early as 28th January… however, in view of the number of comments on the draft this process may be delayed. Nothing therefore to do in the meantime… however…..
A rather surprising planning application has been registered with the council (07/1799/F), and can I encourage you to feed in your comments by Wednesday 9th. The application involves building on the south side of the River Severn, just along from Pengrove flats, on the other side from the old brewery on Longden Coleham. In my view the main reasons to be against this gated block of large houses with moorings are: loss of green space, consequent deterioration in river corridor’s wildlife and ecology, inappropriate housing development (5 and 7 bedroom dwellings), and intrusion into Shrewsbury’s unique river valley.
Please, please make your views known. This is most speedily done on line, but before Wednesday 9th. http://www.shrewsbury.gov.uk/planninglist/detail.asp
